If you have one of these plans, your sessions may be covered in full or in part depending on your individual plan, copay, and deductible. We encourage you to call your insurance provider directly to understand your specific benefits.

We’ve also written a blog about using your insurance benefits to help make this a little easier.

Please note: We do not accept Medicaid plans at this time. We do accept credit/debit cards, HSA, and FSA for all sessions.

Have Insurance Questions? Let’s Talk!

It can be tricky to navigate insurance, but you don’t have to do it alone. Here are a few helpful questions to ask your insurance provider when checking your coverage:

  • This question helps you confirm if your insurance plan covers therapy sessions. Some plans may exclude mental health benefits or only cover certain types of therapy, so it's important to clarify what’s included.

Typically, insurance needs specific codes, which would be:

    • 90791- Intake

    • 90834 and 90837- for therapy sessions ongoing

  • Find out how much you’ll be required to pay out-of-pocket for each therapy session. Your copay is typically a fixed amount, while coinsurance is a percentage of the session cost (for example, 20% of the total cost).

  • Your deductible is the amount you need to pay for healthcare services before your insurance starts covering costs. Ask if you've already met this amount for mental health services or if you still need to pay it before your insurance kicks in.

  • Some insurance plans limit the number of therapy sessions covered each year. Knowing how many sessions are covered helps you plan your therapy schedule and avoid unexpected costs.

  • Some plans require pre-authorization or a referral from your primary care doctor before they will cover therapy. This step ensures that you’re clear on whether you need additional paperwork or approvals before starting therapy.
