Work With Fabiola Felix, LSW
Online Therapy for Adults, Young Adults & Teens Navigating Anxiety, Trauma, Depression & Grief Throughout Chicago & Illinois
Helping you put down what you've been quietly carrying for far too long
Hi, I’m Fabiola (she/her)
I'm really glad you're here.
Whether you've been thinking about therapy for a while or you're only beginning to wonder if you need support, I'm honored you're taking a few moments to learn more about me.
I'm a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) providing online therapy for adults, young adults, and teens throughout Chicago and Illinois.
I specialize in helping people navigate anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, life transitions, and the quiet weight of carrying too much for too long. I also have a special passion for supporting first-generation individuals as they navigate the unique pressures of balancing family, culture, and their own well-being.
You don't have to keep carrying everything by yourself anymore.
The people who find their way to me usually aren't "falling apart."
They're simply tired.
Maybe you've spent so much time taking care of everyone else that you're not even sure what you need anymore.
Maybe anxiety has become such a constant part of your life that you've forgotten what it feels like for your mind to truly be quiet.
Maybe grief has changed you in ways other people can't see, or depression has left you feeling disconnected from the person you used to be.
Maybe you're carrying old hurts, difficult family dynamics, or experiences that still show up in your relationships today.
Or maybe, as a first-generation student or professional, you're trying to balance your own dreams while carrying family expectations, cultural pressure, and the feeling that you always have to get it right.
Whatever brought you here, you don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
Therapy with me is a place where you can slow down, take a deep breath, and finally put some of that weight down.
Together, we'll move at a pace that feels right for you, making sense of what's happening beneath the surface while helping you feel more grounded, more connected, and more like yourself again.

Who I Help
You might recognize yourself in some of these experiences...
You've Been Carrying More Than Anyone Realizes
From the outside, you look like you're managing just fine. But underneath, you're emotionally exhausted. You're the person everyone depends on, and somewhere along the way, your own needs quietly moved to the bottom of the list. If burnout has left you feeling drained, disconnected, or like you're simply going through the motions, therapy can help you reconnect with yourself.
Your Mind Rarely Gets a Break
Anxiety feels like constant background noise. You replay conversations after they've ended, second-guess your decisions, and always seem to be preparing for what could go wrong next. Together, we'll work to understand what's fueling your anxiety and develop practical tools to help you feel calmer and more in control.
You're Balancing Two Worlds
As a first-generation or Latinx adult, young adult, or teen, you may feel caught between honoring your family, culture, and expectations while also trying to build a life that feels authentic to you. That balancing act can bring guilt, pressure, and the feeling that you're carrying more than anyone realizes.
You're Grieving Someone or Something Important
Grief isn't only about losing someone you love. It can also come from the end of a relationship, a major life transition, or letting go of the future you imagined. Whatever your loss looks like, therapy can provide a compassionate space to process your grief without feeling rushed or alone.
You've Been Going Through the Motions
Depression doesn't always look like staying in bed all day. Sometimes it looks like showing up for work or school, taking care of everyone else, and quietly wondering why you don't feel like yourself anymore. If life has started to feel heavy, therapy can help you reconnect with hope, purpose, and joy again.
You Want Therapy That Feels Human
You don't need someone who simply nods along or speaks in clinical language that doesn't feel like you.
You want a therapist who is warm, collaborative, culturally responsive, and genuinely curious about your story. Someone who helps you better understand yourself while offering practical support that fits your real life.
You don't have to have a "big enough" reason to begin therapy.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, life transitions, cultural pressures, or simply feeling overwhelmed by everything you're carrying, we can begin exactly where you are.
If you're looking for compassionate online therapy in Chicago or anywhere in Illinois, I'd be honored to support you.
If you’ve been searching for a therapist near you in Chicago or anywhere in Illinois who truly understands this experience, you’re in the right place.
What therapy with me feels like
Clients often describe our sessions as a “massive sigh of relief.” We move at a pace that feels supportive, collaborative, and never rushed or judgmental.
You do not have to “perform” here.
You do not need the perfect words or a polished version of yourself. We start exactly where you are.
Therapy that feels human and practical.
Together, we work to understand the patterns underneath the anxiety, overthinking, burnout, and emotional exhaustion while building tools that actually help in everyday life.
Your identity is understood, not analyzed.
For many first-generation, BIPOC, and Latinx individuals, being “strong” was never really a choice. Therapy can become a space where your full identity is honored with care and understanding.
Over time, online therapy can help you:
Calm the noise of anxiety and overthinking
Feel less emotionally overwhelmed by daily life
Set boundaries with family and work without overwhelming guilt
Feel steadier, more confident, and more connected to yourself again
How I Support You
Therapy isn't about simply getting through the week. Together, we'll work to understand the experiences, family dynamics, cultural expectations, and life events that have shaped how you see yourself and move through the world. My goal is to help you feel lighter, more grounded, and more confident in your everyday life.
Quiet the Constant Mental Noise
If anxiety has your mind constantly racing with "what if" thoughts, overthinking, or second-guessing yourself, we'll work together to better understand those patterns while building practical tools that help you feel calmer and more in control.
Heal from Trauma Without Letting It Define You
Past experiences don't have to keep shaping how you see yourself or your relationships. We'll move at a pace that feels safe, helping you process difficult experiences with compassion while creating new ways of moving forward.
Move Beyond Depression and Emotional Exhaustion
When life feels heavy, even the smallest tasks can feel overwhelming. Together, we'll explore what's contributing to those feelings, reconnect with what matters most to you, and work toward helping you feel more hopeful, energized, and like yourself again.
Navigate First-Generation & Cultural Expectations
Balancing your own needs while honoring your family, culture, and values isn't always easy. We'll make space for the guilt, pressure, and responsibility you may be carrying while helping you create healthier boundaries that still feel authentic to who you are.
Build Confidence, Boundaries & Self-Trust
You don't have to earn your worth through achievement or by always putting everyone else first. Together, we'll strengthen your confidence, practice setting boundaries without guilt, and help you trust yourself more fully.
Find Hope After Grief and Life Transitions
Whether you're grieving the loss of someone you love, the end of a relationship, or a version of life you thought you'd have, therapy can provide a supportive space to process your grief, adjust to change, and slowly begin moving forward with hope.
Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious, grieving, or disconnected from themselves. Together, we'll move beyond simply surviving and begin creating a life that feels calmer, more meaningful, and more like your own.
Areas I Commonly Support
Every person's story is unique, but many of the adults, young adults, and teens I work with come to therapy for support with:
Anxiety, chronic overthinking, and excessive worry
Depression, low mood, and feeling emotionally stuck
Grief, loss, and difficult life transitions
Trauma, childhood emotional wounds, and difficult past experiences
Burnout, emotional exhaustion, and chronic stress
First-generation experiences, cultural pressure, and identity stress
Low self-esteem, self-doubt, and people-pleasing
Relationship challenges, communication difficulties, and boundary-setting
LGBTQIA+ affirming and identity-affirming care
Support for BIPOC adults, young adults, and teens
You don't have to know exactly what's "wrong" before reaching out. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, grieving, emotionally exhausted, or simply not like yourself lately, therapy begins with your story, not a perfect label.
Together, we'll make sense of what you're carrying and help you move toward feeling more grounded, hopeful, and connected again.
My approach
My work is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in the belief that you are not broken. Your mind and body have simply been trying to cope with a lot of pressure for a long time.
I take a collaborative and practical approach to therapy, helping you better understand the patterns underneath anxiety, overthinking, burnout, and emotional exhaustion while building tools that feel realistic and supportive in everyday life.
For many first-generation adults and people from BIPOC and Latinx communities, being “strong” was not really a choice. It was something you learned to survive, adapt, and care for the people around you.
I understand the tension that can come with honoring your roots while also trying to take care of your own mental health.
This is a space where your full identity is honored.
Why This Work Matters to Me
I believe therapy should feel respectful, affirming, and genuinely human.
So many people are taught to push through, stay strong, and carry everything quietly. I’m here to remind you that needing support does not make you weak. It makes you human.
You deserve a space where you do not always have to be the one holding everything together.
A Few Things That Help Me Slow Down
Outside the therapy room, you'll usually find me spending time with my family, getting outside to enjoy nature, trying new recipes in the kitchen, or listening to music that helps me unwind.
I believe healing doesn't always happen through life's biggest moments. Sometimes it begins in the quiet ones…a walk outside, a home-cooked meal, a favorite song, or simply spending time with the people who matter most.
Those everyday moments remind me to slow down, stay present, and reconnect with what matters. They're also a gentle reminder that rest, joy, and taking care of ourselves aren't things we have to earn. They're an important part of living well.
